Kai Tak Sports Park Celebrates a Historic Milestone with Its One-Millionth Spectator During the Hong Kong Football Festival 2025
(31 July 2025, Hong Kong) As a new landmark for sports and entertainment in Hong Kong, Kai Tak Sports Park (KTSP) welcomed its one-millionth spectator today at the highly anticipated Hong Kong Football Festival 2025. This significant event marks an important milestone in the park's development. Since its opening in March, the park has swiftly become a focal point for both local and international audiences, with over one million attendees participating in events at the Kai Tak Stadium within just five months. This achievement highlights KTSP’s exceptional ability to promote sports, culture, and tourism, laying a solid foundation for Hong Kong's event-driven economy.
Kai Tak Sports Park CEO, Mr. John SHARKEY, stated: “Since the opening of Kai Tak Sports Park, the Kai Tak Stadium has hosted nine spectacular events totalling 27 event days from thrilling sports events to breath-taking musical performances, successfully attracting a million fans and supporters to cheer for their favourite teams and stars. Today, we celebrate the arrival of our one-millionth spectator, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of event organizers and every single attendee, who have joined us in crafting this proud story that belongs to Hong Kong.”
To commemorate this meaningful "Million Moment" KTSP organized a series of surprise experiences for the one-millionth spectator, Mr. Ip and his family, allowing them to enjoy exclusive treatment during the international match between Arsenal and Tottenham. Mr. Ip and his family was invited to step onto the field and, in the presence of Kai Tak Sports Park CEO Mr. John Sharkey, Chief Operating Officer Mr. Darren Burden, TEG Sport Chairman Mr. Geoff Jones, and Kai Tak Sports Park Premier Founding Partner, Chief Customer Officer, Wealth and Personal Banking, HSBC Hong Kong Mr. Brian Hui received a special edition "One-Millionth Spectator" commemorative T-shirt. They also enjoyed an upgraded experience at the Celebration Hall of Kai Tak Stadium, indulging in an upgraded dining experience and seeing legendary players in person, creating an unprecedented viewing experience.
